Prohibition of Hydroponic and Aquaponic Production Systems according to NOP Board Proposal
According to National Organic Standards Board Crops Subcommittee Proposal, hydroponic and aquaponic production systems (allowing only container growing under certain conditions) cannot be classified as certified organic due to exclusion of soil, and this prohibition may enter into force starting November,2017.
