TE-MM-TEM-111-V1.0 Human Rights Policy and Code of Conduct Template

The TE-MM-TEM-111-V1.0 Human Rights Policy and Code of Conduct Template document was published by Textile Exchange on September 1, 2026. 

Note: This document is effective with the Materials Matter Standard on December 31, 2026. 

TE-MM-TEM-111 Human Rights Policy and Code of Conduct Template provides two optional templates designed to help organizations seeking certification to implement criteria in Principle 2: Human rights and livelihoods of the Materials Matter Standard:  

•  The Human Rights Policy Template to assist organizations in implementing the Materials Matter Standard, criterion 2.1.1 ("The organization is committed to respecting all human rights") 

• The Code of Conduct Template to support implementation of the Materials Matter Standard, criterion 2.1.2 ("The organization establishes and implements a code of conduct"). 

The two templates are intended to be used together. 

Small and medium-sized farms are not required to maintain these documents in writing but may use the templates to support verbal communication. Group managers, large farms, small processing facilities, and large processing facilities are required to maintain a written human rights policy and to implement a written code of conduct. The use of these templates is optional.
